How to build the honeycomb glass dome step by step?
Step 1: Assemble the Frame
Begin by pre-assembling the honeycomb frame into quadrilateral, pentagonal, and hexagonal modules based on the provided installation manual.
Identify the door position and start assembling the prepared frame modules from both sides of the door.
Secure each connection point with screws, and once the first layer is in place, double-check and tightly fasten all screw holes.
Continue installing the frame layer by layer, stacking and securing each level until the top pentagonal frame is installed.
This completes the structural frame for the honeycomb geodesic glass dome.
Step 2: Install Interior Insulation Panels
Following the installation diagram, install the interior insulation panels in designated areas.
These panels provide privacy, block 100% of UV rays, and offer moisture resistance, insulation, and soundproofing for a comfortable experience. Position each panel against the frame and apply structural adhesive around the edges to secure it firmly while ensuring waterproof and moisture-resistant protection.
Step 3: Install RAXTENT Exclusive Insulation Layer
RAXTENT’s unique 20mm thick insulation layer features an aluminum foil surface on one side and adhesive insulation cotton on the other, making it easy to install with excellent thermal properties.
Peel off the adhesive backing and place the insulation layer on the pre-installed interior insulation panel, pressing it down gently to ensure a snug and even fit.
Step 4: Install Exterior Double-Glazed Tempered Glass
The honeycomb glass dome uses 5mm+9A+5mm double-glazed tempered glass. To install, first apply masking tape on the glass surface, then position the glass on the frame and press along the edges to ensure a secure fit.
Seal the edges with structural adhesive and use a scraper to remove any excess adhesive between glass panels, creating a smooth, polished finish. Follow a top-to-bottom sequence for sealing the glass, and support the bottom layer with wooden braces for at least 12 hours after sealing to enhance stability.
Step 5: Install Exhaust Fan, Glass Door, and Windows
The exhaust fan and glass door installation is similar to that of the standard geodesic dome. The honeycomb glass dome features hexagonal windows, with window frames secured along the frame using screws. The hexagonal design allows for maximum ventilation, optimizing airflow within the dome.
Step 6: Inspection and Testing
After installation, perform a thorough inspection and testing to ensure that the frame is stable, the glass is properly sealed, and the ventilation system is functioning well.
This final step guarantees that the structure meets water and windproofing standards, providing a safe and comfortable environment.
